Architectural Illustration

The entirely hand drawn illustration captures an aerial view of Porthcawl in South Wales. The drawing also features the neighbouring areas of Newton, Nottage, Kenfig, Maudlam, Cornelly and Pyle.

 

The piece offers a unique abstract perspective of the coastal town and surrounding countryside, celebrating the natural and manmade manipulation of landscape. The drawing includes the iconic Rest Bay, Esplanade, and Marina as well as the expansive Trecco Bay holiday park to the east. The area’s three golf courses, Royal Porthcawl, Pyle & Kenfig and The Grove can be seen to the west, in stark contrast to the neighbouring deep terraces of the Cornelly limestone quarry.

 

The limited-edition illustration is signed, numbered, and dated.

There are three sizes available:

A3 (42cm x 29.7cm / 16.5in x 11.7in)

A2 (59.4cm x 42cm / x 23.4in x 16.5in)

A1 (84.1cm x 59.4cm / 33.1in x 23.4in)

 

The smaller format drawing (A3) is printed onto 250gsm Tintoretto Gesso Paper, a slightly off-white paper with a lightly hammered surface texture. The illustration is packaged with a sturdy grey-board backing and sealed inside a cellophane case.

 

The larger format drawings (A2 & A1) are printed onto 220gsm Cartridge Paper, a similar slightly off-white paper with a lightly hammered surface texture. The illustrations are carefully rolled, wrapped, and posted inside a sturdy cardboard tube.
